During the COVID years of 2020–2021 when walking became a national pastime, Bonnie Kissam M.A., Feldenkrais® practitioner, relaunched her six-week “Lightness of Walking” program online. Walking is an accessible, effective form of exercise that creates an opportunity to tune into yourself and the present.  

The even, rhythmic pattern allows your mind and body to re-organize around your center. Unfortunately, as some people age, they become stuck in old habitual patterns of moving that often lead to discomfort and loss of enjoyment in walking.   

This spring, you can join The Lightness of Walking community online from the comfort of your own home. Kissam has a unique understanding of Moshe Feldenkrais’s wisdom as a pioneer in neuroplasticity. With this knowledge, she can help you change your patterns for walking with the simple actions of sitting and lying on the floor. As a result, you will learn how to re-design your “ABCs for Walking.”   

Past attendees have reported amazement at how much lighter and more efficient their balance can be when they use the Lightness of Walking tools to realign, re-balance and re-coordinate. So introduce yourself to a new you with a youthful bounce and spring in your walk. Classes are held on Wednesdays from April 6–May 11, and June 8–July 13, starting at 1 p.m., or Sundays from May 1–June 12, 5–7 p.m.
