Lasting Pain Relief Meets Joyful Living: Q&A with Dr. Andrew Hall

Oct 31, 2025 10:00AM ● By Mary-Elizabeth Schurrer

It’s hard to access a passion and enthusiasm for life when you feel stuck in a cycle of relentless, constant pain. Dr. Andrew Hall knows this reality firsthand, having suffered from various chronic health problems in the aftermath of a traumatic spinal injury.

In search of healing to resolve the root causes of his pain—not just temporarily mask the issue—Dr. Hall came across the Blair Upper Cervical Technique. That encounter and its lasting impact on his own quality of life inspired Dr. Hall to make the treatment widely accessible to others. And that’s exactly what he has done for over 20 years.

Drawing from his experience in this transformative chiropractic modality, Dr. Hall shares how the Blair Upper Cervical Technique offers the kind of sustainable pain relief which leads to joyful living. I hope our conversation fills you with confidence that healing is possible.

Natural Awakenings: For anyone unfamiliar with the Blair Upper Cervical Technique, can you offer a brief explanation as to what this treatment modality entails?

Dr. Andrew Hall: The Blair Upper Cervical Technique is a highly specialized form of chiropractic care that focuses on precise alignment of the top two bones in the neck—the atlas (C1) and axis (C2). These vertebrae protect the brainstem, which is the control center for all communication between the brain and the body.

Even the smallest misalignment in this area can distort this communication, resulting in symptoms of dysfunction. However, with the use of accurate image tools and gentle, tailored corrections, the Blair Technique restores structural balance and allows the nervous system to function optimally without forceful manipulations. The goal is not to make spinal regular adjustments—but rather, for this correction to “hold” in its aligned position, so that no further adjustments are required. This is how sustainable healing occurs.

NA: What are the most common sources of spinal injuries and chronic pain that you see, and how can these issues affect a person’s quality of life?

Dr. Hall: Most of the upper cervical misalignments stem from past trauma—such as car accidents, sports injuries, falls, or even birth trauma. However, chronic stress and postural issues can also contribute to misalignments over time.

When the spine is misaligned at the top, it forces the rest of the body to compensate. This can result in chronic pain, migraines, vertigo, fatigue, and a host of other health problems. These imbalances affect the nervous system, which means they can also diminish energy, mood, focus, and overall vitality, causing a person to feel as if they’re just living at half-capacity.

NA: What would you tell someone who has exhausted other chiropractic modalities or practitioners, but is hesitant to try the Blair Upper Cervical Technique?

Dr. Hall: It’s important to realize that not all chiropractic methods are the same. The Blair Technique stands apart from many others because it’s precision-based, image-informed, and highly personalized. Each adjustment is tailored to the patient’s exact anatomy, which means you will not have to settle for a one-size-fits-all approach.

Many of our patients come to us after several years of testing other methods without experiencing sustainable results. As such, they often find that treating the root cause— head-to-neck misalignment—finally helps their bodies heal. This technique is gentle, specific, and the results tend to speak for themselves.

NA: In your experience, how have you seen the results from this treatment method give folks a renewed sense of joyfulness and exuberance in their daily lives?

Dr. Hall: It is immensely rewarding to watch someone who has been living with pain, dizziness, brain fog, or other related symptoms regain their mental clarity, energy, and zest for life. I have seen patients who could not work, drive, or play with their kids finally be able to resume their normal routines. When the brain-body connection is restored, you don’t just feel better—you feel alive again. This transformation fuels everything we do.

I care about helping others truly heal, not just cope. So much of modern healthcare is focused on treating surface-level symptoms, rather than correcting root causes. The Blair Technique offers a means for the body to heal itself, both naturally and sustainably, without relying on medications or constant interventions. Watching someone’s entire health trajectory change because we corrected the source of dysfunction—that’s deeply fulfilling.
