Frank Kinslow has always been fascinated by the idea that this ordinary world could be sitting right on top of an extraordinary one, and most humans are just too busy to notice. His new novel, Stillness Echoes, begins with that premise and follows it wherever it leads. 

The main character, Eleonora, is a brilliant but overlooked researcher who works quietly in a museum archive. One day, she discovers a set of ancient parchments written by a monk whose teachings are unlike anything she has ever seen.  

At first, she approaches them as any scholar might—dictionary in one hand,  magnifying glass in the other. But as she deciphers the passages, the teachings start to instruct and inform her life. These parchments describe how to touch what the monk calls, “nothing,” a luminous and quietly transformative space. This doesn’t rearrange the character’s external world so much as reveal another dimension within it.
