Embrace the High Vibration Life: Q&A with The OM Shoppe

by Mary-Elizabeth Schurrer

“What is vibrational medicine?” This is the question I found myself wondering as I prepared to speak to Beth A. Snyder, CCHt, a clinical hypnotherapist and owner of Sarasota’s energetic oasis The OM Shoppe which she took the helm of in 2016. Serendipitously, as our conversation unfolded, Snyder’s vast knowledge of the metaphysical offered me an answer.

“Vibrational medicine is a holistic approach to health and wellness that takes into account the energetic nature of all living creatures. Our atoms are vibrating energy, and energetic vibrations of many forms and frequencies—colors, lights, sounds, touch, aromas—constantly affect us. Vibrational medicine involves all forms of energy therapy which can tune both us and our environment back into harmonic resonance,” she explains.

Her definition might sound complex in theory, but in actual practice, vibrational medicine is quite simple to integrate into the rhythms of daily life. In our insightful discussion below, Snyder educates me—and you too, I hope!—on why a high-vibration existence is such a crucial part of wellness and how The OM Shoppe continues to make this lifestyle accessible, both to the Sarasota community and even nationwide.

Natural Awakenings: I hear The OM Shoppe has undergone a recent expansion—can you summarize what this process entailed, and what your goals are for the business as you look ahead to 2020?

Beth Snyder: We expanded into the next-door space which has doubled our size to more than 3,600 square feet. This new expansion created additional space for a showroom, events, classrooms, production and extra storage. We had simply outgrown our previous location, and the space next door was calling to us, so after a year of planning, we took the plunge, and the response has been tremendous!

We have already started hosting events, selling out classes and concerts, expanding our product lines, and we have created a beautiful community space for our clients, customers and those eager to learn more about vibrational medicine. In 2020, we’ll continue to offer interesting and unique high-value classes, lectures, author visits and other resources to bring the world of sound healing and vibrational medicine to both individuals and practitioners alike. We recently sold out a three-day intensive level one sound healing certification course in just two weeks—in fact, we added more seating to accommodate the response.

We have plans to grow our OM education department, host conscious music events and self-empowering workshops, and expand our lines of vibrational medicine tools, musical instruments, energy décor, natural wellness products and menu of services in our energy spa. This expansion is a true playground for everyone’s inner child. In our showroom, we have hundreds of quartz crystal singing bowls, steel drums, Idiopans, flutes and Tibetan bowls for our customers to explore and interact with.

Our selection of metaphysical and self-help books or CDs are popular too, along with our exclusive jewelry, face and body care lines, crystals, Himalayan salt products and more. The OM Shoppe is both an uplifting and entertaining place, and our mission is to help anyone who enters feel more connected, vibrant and well.

NA: What products and services do you offer currently at The OM Shoppe, and will any of these be changed or revamped as the store continues in its new transition?

Snyder: The OM Shoppe is one of the nation’s leading suppliers of quartz crystal singing bowls and sound healing tools. You might not even realize it, but our successful ecommerce website ships all over the continental United States. We consider ourselves a vibrational medicine store, and we also offer the area’s only premier energy spa which is unique in that all of our beds are equipped with Amethyst Bio Mats.

In addition, we provide chronotherapy (color therapy), then a 22-page biofeedback aura report is taken of each client before a treatment, and the sound healing included in all our treatments is based on the individual’s specific needs. Our massage therapists are highly trained and passionate, not only about massage, but energy and chakra balancing too. We have trademarked our signature treatments in energy, sound and massage, and our in-house clinical hypnotherapists round out The OM Shoppe to be a body, mind and spirit experience.

Many of our clients enjoy our wellness packages which offer various complimentary healing modalities, and our core philosophy is that we are here to support others in creating the intentions they desire for themselves. Too often, people are made to feel they “should” do something, but we firmly believe that each individual knows what they need in order to become their truest self. We are here to hold space, offer direction and help our clients discover both healing and wholeness.

NA: How do you envision this period of growth and transformation will impact and benefit your customers and the Sarasota area as a whole?

Snyder: The OM Shoppe is more than just a retail store or spa—we are a true OM community. This space was created to enable those who are seeking to find their way through natural approaches which lead to their fullest selves. We are working to host more courses and events with high-profile artists or authors that will benefit our entire Sarasota community. We have also partnered with local practitioners and teachers to facilitate workshops, and we plan to offer yoga and meditation in 2020 as well.

Being part of the OM community fosters the love, support and encouragement we need to move through our personal transformations. Each individual who enters our space is a visit from the Divine, and we take this to heart. Everyone is a mirror and a reflection to all those who surround them—there is no separation, and you can feel this sense of connection whenever you step inside The OM Shoppe.

NA: What are you most excited to see unfold with regard to The OM Shoppe’s future trajectory in the New Year—and even beyond?

Snyder: The OM Shoppe is a collective of like-minded people working to raise the vibration of our planet, and each team member is dedicated to the practice of a highly vibrational life path. This means that our unified vision is to raise the standards of sound healing and to become a school and certifying body for sound healers over the next five years.

We produced our first magazine titled The OM in 2019, and we are excited to continue distributing this publication to our audience all over the country. We are working on the first quarter issue of 2020 that will be chock-full of meditations, product knowledge and other inspirational content for anyone who is interested in a high-vibration lifestyle. As a clinical hypnotherapist, I understand the power of the mind, and when we all share a vision of kindness, acceptance, love and growth, then we can access our purest, truest potential.

However, I am most excited about our Shamanic Sound Journeys which are collaborative efforts of professional musicians who combine the science of sound, mind-body medicine and hypnosis to create a unique, remarkable experience. These Shamanic Sound Journeys have continued to sell out since their inception nine months ago, but with we can now accommodate as many as 16 guests for a conscious mind expansion like no other, held on the last Sunday of each month at 3:00 in the afternoon.
