A Hidden Source of Heart Disease

Jan 30, 2026 10:00AM ● By Janet Lindsay

Many doctors still believe the only contributors to heart disease are physical factors—cholesterol levels, inflammation, or lack of exercise, for instance. But the heart also suffers from mental, emotional, and relational neglect. If you work all the time and can’t take off to be with your loved ones, your heart will languish from disconnection and lose energy.

This neglect can manifest as depression, anxiety, or other negative emotions due to blocked energy flow. If you receive love but fail to return it, that energy can  stagnate and turn sour. There is no judgment in pointing this out—it is simply an oversight that we humans can make. But there is still time to course correct.

Release your bitterness and regret, then move forward in love. Look for ways to show others how much you value them. Your heart requires a free flow of love in order to remain balanced, content, and healthy, and strong.
